Kindergarten Mandarin Camps 2026

Students step into the world of Chinese art, where ink, color, and imagination come together. Throughout the week, children explore traditional techniques such as brush painting, paper cutting, and decorative patterns found in Chinese culture. They also try modern interpretations—mixing old and new styles to create their own artwork. By the end of the week, students showcase a mini “art exhibition” filled with pieces inspired by mountains, dragons, flowers, and symbols of Chinese heritage.

Young chefs begin a flavorful adventure that explores Chinese and international foods in kid-friendly ways. Students experiment with simple recipes, learn how different ingredients change taste and texture, and compare dishes from around the world. This week will feature a field trip to the Civic Center Farmer’s Market, where kids will learn about the seasonal food grown in our backyard! They also practice teamwork as they prepare colorful dumplings, creative snacks, and fun fusion treats. At the end of the week, students host a “Mini Food Fair,” sharing their favorite culinary creations.

We are bringing the FIFA World Cup to PKS! Campers of all experience levels are invited to move, play, and have fun through soccer-inspired games and activities. The focus is on being active, trying new skills, and working together—not competition or prior experience. Alongside inclusive drills, cooperative challenges, and modified games, campers will enjoy World Cup–inspired crafts such as designing team jerseys, creating flags and banners, decorating mini soccer balls, and making cheer signs for game days. The week wraps up with a friendly, low-pressure celebration that combines movement, creativity, and sportsmanship—highlighting the joy of playing and creating together.

Students collect stamps in their “passport” as they visit a new country each day. They explore global traditions through music, crafts, stories, and iconic landmarks, discovering both similarities and unique features from different cultures. Throughout the week, children learn simple greetings and fun facts in Mandarin, connecting global exploration to language learning. By Friday, the class transforms into a cheerful international fair.

Each day, children will learn about different animal habitats, how animals move and communicate, and what they need to survive. From pretending to stomp like elephants or slither like snakes to creating animal masks and mini habitats, this week encourages empathy, observation, and a love for living things. Along the way, campers will enjoy pirate crafts like designing treasure maps, decorating pirate hats, and creating their own flags. With stories, games, and pretend play, this week encourages curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving, all while building confidence and friendship as every camper becomes part of the pirate crew on their quest for treasure!

All aboard for Transportation Station! This week, campers will explore the many ways people move around their community through hands-on play, movement, and real-world experiences. Children will learn about buses, trains, bikes, and scooters, and how transportation helps people get where they need to go. A highlight of the week will be a special field trip riding MUNI or BART, where campers will learn about public transit, safety, and navigating the city. Back at camp, they’ll enjoy vehicle-themed art, building projects, and dramatic play, and the week will wrap up with an exciting bike and scooter track!
