Students step into the world of Chinese art, where ink, color, and imagination come together. Throughout the week, children explore traditional techniques such as brush painting, paper cutting, and decorative patterns found in Chinese culture. They also try modern interpretations—mixing old and new styles to create their own artwork. By the end of the week, students showcase a mini “art exhibition” filled with pieces inspired by mountains, dragons, flowers, and symbols of Chinese heritage.

Young chefs begin a flavorful adventure that explores Chinese and international foods in kid-friendly ways. Students experiment with simple recipes, learn how different ingredients change taste and texture, and compare dishes from around the world. This week will feature a field trip to the Civic Center Farmer’s Market, where kids will learn about the seasonal food grown in our backyard! They also practice teamwork as they prepare colorful dumplings, creative snacks, and fun fusion treats. At the end of the week, students host a “Mini Food Fair,” sharing their favorite culinary creations.

We are bringing the FIFA World Cup to PKS! Campers of all experience levels are invited to move, play, and have fun through soccer-inspired games and activities. The focus is on being active, trying new skills, and working together—not competition or prior experience. Alongside inclusive drills, cooperative challenges, and modified games, campers will enjoy World Cup–inspired crafts such as designing team jerseys, creating flags and banners, decorating mini soccer balls, and making cheer signs for game days. The week wraps up with a friendly, low-pressure celebration that combines movement, creativity, and sportsmanship—highlighting the joy of playing and creating together.

During Global Innovators: World Explorers, campers will “travel” the globe as they explore different countries, cultures, landmarks, and ways of life. Throughout the week, campers will research a country of their choice and learn about its geography, traditions, food, language, and modern innovations. Using this knowledge, they’ll work in teams to design a creative travel ad campaign—complete with posters, slogans, and presentations—highlighting what makes their country unique and exciting. The week builds global awareness, collaboration, and presentation skills, and culminates in a fun showcase where campers share their travel campaigns and become ambassadors for their chosen destinations.

Get ready to code, create, and collaborate! During Dot & Dash Robotics Week, campers will dive into hands-on STEM challenges using Dot and Dash robots to explore the basics of coding, problem-solving, and engineering. Through team challenges, creative obstacle courses, and interactive missions, campers will learn how to program movements, sounds, and sensors while building confidence in computational thinking. This week encourages innovation, teamwork, and curiosity as campers discover how technology can be both fun and powerful.

Math becomes an exciting quest filled with puzzles, patterns, building tasks, and treasure-hunt style challenges. Students work individually and in teams to complete missions that involve shapes, numbers, measurement, and logical thinking. The week transforms math into a playful adventure where every child discovers the joy of problem-solving.

Get ready for adventure and teamwork on Survivor Island! Campers will step into the shoes of island explorers, facing fun challenges that test their problem-solving, strategy, and collaboration skills. Each day, they’ll navigate obstacle courses, complete scavenger hunts, and tackle survival-inspired games that encourage creativity and critical thinking. Campers will also engage in hands-on crafts and projects, like building shelters, creating survival gear, and designing maps of their island. 

During Urban Engineers: City in Motion, campers step into the shoes of city planners and engineers to explore how transportation shapes our communities. Through hands-on projects, design challenges, and problem-solving activities, campers will investigate how buses, trains, ferries, bicycles, and pedestrians all work together to keep a city moving. A highlight of the week will be a field trip on a San Francisco ferry or cable car, where campers will observe real-world transit systems in action and think about how cities plan for efficiency, safety, and accessibility. Back at camp, campers will design their own mini transit networks, build bridges, roads, and stations from recycled materials, and create 3D city maps, vehicle models, or transportation-themed art and posters. Collaborative challenges will let campers test their designs, problem-solve, and innovate—combining creativity, engineering, and teamwork to imagine the city of the future.
