Kids Carpentry has been teaching Bay Areas children the safe use of basic carpentry hand tools and techniques since 1982. Students will construct their own toys, games, and other projects designed for kinesthetic learners. Price includes all materials needed to build their projects.

Chess is an absolutely amazing game for children of all ages. It builds a child’s self esteem, critical thinking skills, focus, and even patience. Not to mention other important aspects of a student’s growth like good sportsmanship and planning ahead. 

Coding opens countless doors for a child’s future.  We will go from simple projects with different characters working independently, to connecting characters with complex actions. Your child will also get to apply their artistic skills to create their own sprites, tell stories, and, best of all, learn to love coding!

Please note that this class uses devices like iPads and computers and the students practice their skills through using coding games to test their creations.

Students will feel empowered with X Kids robotics. We have sets for all types of interests and abilities. Children who are new  to robotics can make mini sets that can often be completed before the class is over.

It comes in various colors and can be easily mixed by blending basic colors in proportion, making it easy to work with. The creations made with clay do not require baking; they naturally air dry without cracking. Engaging in air clay art can fully exercise children's hands-on abilities and significantly enhance their fine motor skills. Playing with clay involves a series of actions such as kneading, pinching, pressing, joining, pressing, carving, sticking, and pasting, which utilize all the strength in their hands. Come flip, roll, jump, and tumble with Head Over Heels SF! This entry-level class will teach safety and basic skills while also challenging students with new skills. We use portable equipment to give your child an introduction to the fundamentals of gymnastics. Skills taught include cartwheels, handstands, rolls, bar skills, and beam skills; other skills developed include confidence, flexibility, coordination, and balance. Skills are always taught in a fun and encouraging environment. This class will culminate in an Funtastic Gymnastics Exhibition on the last day of class. This is a fun and exciting opportunity for family and friends to come watch what your tumblers have been learning during the semester (in a low key in environment)! Students will demonstrate their gymnastics skills and accomplishments and finish with an award ceremony and a gold medal for every gymnast! The exhibition will take place during the last 20 minutes of the final class. Our motto is fun, friends, and fitness! Sign up today!

Join Mr. Bongo of Duniya Dance and Drumming as we learn about the dances and music of West Africa!

Students will learn how to drum with their hands as well as sticks. Mr. Bongo will explore the movements of West African traditional and popular music, as well as teach students about his culture from Guinea. Classes include activities for students to refine their motor skills and also express themselves creatively, with additional focus on community building and respect. Bongo is an experienced music educator in schools all over San Francisco and with organizations such as the SF Ballet, LEAP, SF Arts Education and the Asawa SF School of the Arts.

Our S.T.E.M. program with emphasis on engineering is designed to introduce students to the job of an engineer, the field of engineering, and basic concepts of engineering as it relates to the science of civil and mechanical engineering as well as concepts of physics, motion and energy.

Rebound Basketball emphasizes developing sport skills, improving self-esteem, and fair play in a fun recreational environment. We will practice basic basketball skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting. Please be sure your child wears proper sport clothes, sport shoes, and bring a water bottle. From rolls to cartwheels and back handsprings, this class combines gymnastics tumbling skills and circus acrobatics to challenge students toward more intermediate and advanced skills. Skills are always taught in a fun and encouraging environment! Prerequisites for the class: participants must already be able to perform a cartwheel on both sides (right and left) and hold a handstand against a wall for 20 seconds and be able to safely follow directions in a class setting. This is an intermediate-level, hands-on course where students will learn to build and program real-life, simple robotic actions using a programmable EV3 Brick (created at the MIT Media Lab), motors, and a variety of robotic sensors: ultrasonic, sound, light, and touch. 

We have many different robot themes. Some very popular games include World Cup soccer, obstacle courses, or even battle bots. 

Students learn how to work in teams, increasing communication and critical thinking skills. All while learning and designing from scratch!
